National Pet Dental Health Month

It’s not surprising our dog, Lucy, loves brushing her teeth. February is National Pet Dental Health month and we’d love to bring awareness to the importance of maintaining your pet’s oral health.
Periodontal disease is the most common clinical condition in dogs and cats. Luckily, it’s completely preventable! Daily brushing, while ideal, can be unrealistic. So, aim for 3 times a week. Not only will this help keep their teeth and gums healthy, but reduces their risk for kidney, liver, and heart muscle changes.
Be on the look out for redness of gums, bad breath, loose, broken, or discolored teeth, tenderness of the mouth, or loss of appetite. These can all be signs of poor dental health. And lastly, have your vet check your pet’s teeth at least once a year.
Are you part of the 1% of pet owners that brush their pet’s teeth? If so, share your brushing photos below!
